Stud Highlights
Carcase Win October 2010
The stud won a class in the recent Southern Grass fed Carcase Classic for Steer/Hfr max Two Teeth 261-340 kg. with a 17 mths pure bred heifer.
These animals were processed at Teys Bros, Naracoorte between Oct 11- Oct 22, and carcasses were judged on market specification, saleable meat yield and M S A eating quality using Aust. Beef Cattle Appraisal Systems.
The class was one of four classes and attracted the largest numbers of 67 entries.
Pleasing was a 3 point margin above the 2nd place as well as score of 2 for Aus. Meat Marbling. The heifer dressed 277kg, P8 fat of 10mm, Rib fat of 7 mm with a EMA of 88sq cm.
This is the first carcase competition the stud has entered in 15 years after previous success at Royal Adel Show in 1985 and 1987.
The M A S judging system is totally different and is more aligned with eating qualities.
Show Successes
Amberley started showing at Adelaide Royal in 1985 with 4 head, and received 2 firsts, a fourth, and a heifer was awarded Reserve Junior and the steer won Grand Champion Carcass.
This carcass award was repeated 2 years later with a full brother. The stud continued showing for 11 years in Adelaide as well as Melbourne and occasionally Sydney, winning many championships.
In recent years the stud has supported the National Show and Sale in Tamworth. In 2006 a 17 mths old heifer A Acacia(P) was awarded Grand Champion Female and was in the group of A Xpert progeny that won the sire group.

In 2008 A Zachariah progeny was awarded 2nd place with the heifer being Reserve Junior Champion and the 3 bulls being placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the same class.
