Charolais cattle have long been recognised for their superior growth rates. Feedlotters pay premiums for their growth and the abattoirs pays a premium for their high yielding carcases.

Amberley is a foundation member of the Charolais Society and has had a successful history which has included winning many championships.

The property which is situated 170kms south east of Adelaide consists of improved pastures of lucerne and veldt.

Amberley Charolais cattle must perform in the paddock and selection is on growth rate, fat cover and milk.

Milk tooth pure bred steers which are fattened in the paddock have graded jap ox with maximum fat cover of 17mm and an average price of $1250
